Volunteers stock local creek with baby eels

SUNY Oneonta Biological Field Station researchers and Butternut Valley Alliance volunteers gathered in Morris to release thousands of small, squirming American eels into the waters of Butternut Creek on Wednesday.

This was the headline and first paragraph of the article that ran on the front of the Oneonta's Daily Star, Thursday August 15th. See the rest of the article

It was a very succesful last minute event as we only had about 24 hours notice of the arrival of the eels. However many members showed up to help with the bucket brigade to move the eels to the creek.
